Relining material
Stocking is a technique used to create a new tube inside the defective tube using a sock. The 'sock' typically consists of a coating of polyester liner or a special fiberglass cured with polyester, epoxy or silicate. The 'sock' is inflated like a tube inside the existing tube with fractures, leaks or cracks. Once the sock has hardened, a new layer of pipe will actually be created inside the old pipe, thus closing cracks and holes completely.
Sock lining or Relining is a method used for continuous repair of major damaged areas with a sock, also called a liner, and epoxy chemistry. Typically used with economic advantage for a total repair stretch from 12 mtr. And up after. The method inverts a sock, which is blown out into the damaged pipe area via compressed air. Curing time can be reduced to approx. 2 hours using steam for softening. Can be used in the dimension area DN 50 - DN 2000 but the area above DN 600 is for specialist companies and requires equipment dimensioned for the tasks.
For opening plugs after stocking lining, it is possible to use a rotary cutting system - a cutter solution, which can be manually fed or a motorized tractor solution. The propellant on the cutter can be compressed air (pneumatic) or electricity.
See our selection of stocking lining equipment on this page.
Relining is often the fastest and most economical solution when repairing sewer lines longer than 15 mtr.
